About the Role

The ideal candidate for the Operations Staff Accountant will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to work for a dynamic, growing company within the health care industry. A rounded accounting education base, analytical thinking, innovative mindset and polished interpersonal skills for interaction with all levels of an organization are key to success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monthly invoice preparation and month-end close process
  • Understanding, researching, and analyzing scheduling/payroll information
  • Liaison between payroll and operational accounting teams
  • Researching and resolving operations and accounting compensation questions in a quick and confidential manner
  • Assisting with the creation and implementation of new standardized processes
  • Preparing journal entries and relevant support
  • Performing general ledger reconciliations – monthly/quarterly/annually with supporting documentation
  • Analyzing and interpreting monthly variances actuals/compared to budget
  • Supporting regional internal and external teams
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of scheduling, payroll, and general ledger accounting
  • Analyzing variances from trend in financial reporting from budget and prior periods
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, comfortable with other Microsoft Office Suite applications

Education and Experience

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in public/private accounting

Salary Range

  • $65,000 -$80,000 annually. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience, geographical location, and size/complexity of the program being supported.
