As an Envoy Hospitalist with Sound Physicians, you will travel to provide support to our hospitalist teams in Cedar Rapids and Mason City, Iowa.

Local Team Collaboration:

  • We are seeking an ENVOY Hospitalist to join our Iowa Market.
  • Work alongside two seasoned, diverse hospitalist groups proudly serving our population in Iowa.

Qualifications:

  • Board certified/eligible in internal medicine ONLY.
  • Ability to manage complex medical and social scenarios effectively.
  • A patient-centered and compassionate approach to care.
  • Active medical license in Iowa or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Must be willing to work any shift, which will include day, swing, or night in Mason City and Cedar Rapids.
  • This position is open to residents, though one year of hospitalist experience is preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Scheduling:

  • This Envoy Hospitalist position offers a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule and no call. There is also some flexibility with the schedule as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical work assignments can vary during the month. As such, an Envoy provider may be at different sites every other clinical week and potentially transition mid-week, though this would be less common. Sound Envoy team members enjoy the ability to have flexible shifts and to experience multiple hospitalist medicine cultures.
  • Utilize EPIC systems and Sound’s internal informatics platform.
  • Provide initial healthcare interactions, medical care, education, and support to a wide variety of patient populations.

Living and Working in Cedar Rapids and Mason City:

Cedar Rapids is home to a regional population of more than 200,000 and offers a surprisingly diverse community. Much of this diversity is driven by major employers such as Collins Aerospace and Transamerica. These globally recognized organizations, along with the nearby University of Iowa, located just 30 minutes away, help create a vibrant cultural environment that welcomes people from around the world.

Mason City, with a population of about 30,000, sits in north-central Iowa roughly halfway between Saint Paul and Des Moines. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy year-round recreation at nearby Clear Lake, including sailing, boating, fishing, swimming, and skiing. The community also offers excellent public and private schools, a community college, and local entertainment such as winter hockey games with the North Iowa Bulls and summer fun at the Mason City Aquatic Center.

Compensation:

  • Includes varied shift rates depending on the program, with additional compensation to recognize the flexibility and travel requirements of the role. In addition to shift rates, the position will include quality and productivity bonus opportunities.
