About the Role

The Privileging Consultant (PCT) manages the hospital privileging process for all healthcare providers, providing services to a Sound Physicians managed program. The PCT partners directly with the Privileging Coordinator and 3rd Party Agency contacts to ensure each provider completes the required privileging application and provides the appropriate supporting documentation as outlined by the hospital’s privileging standards and bylaws. The PCT serves as the main point of contact for privileging for both internal and external customers.

The Privileging Consultant is responsible for effectively communicating privileging updates to all necessary parties, including but not limited to Chief Medical Officers, Regional Leadership, Staffing Consultants, locums company contacts, Recruiting, etc. via email, phone calls, and weekly regional staffing calls. The PCT also creates and maintains strong working relations with each of Sound’s clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage and execute all privileging tasks related to the hospital privileging process for each healthcare provider going to a Sound Physicians program.
  • Request and facilitate the return of a complete and accurate privileging application, to include all required supporting documentation.
  • Escalate any “red flags” to Risk Management and appropriate Regional Leadership, Staffing Consultant & Recruiting Consultant, as applicable.
  • Facilitate reappointment files as needed – PCT will be responsible for tracking/running reappointment report monthly and following up to ensure providers are reappointed by reappointment date.
  • Responsible for uploading hospital correspondence and entering privilege dates once a file is complete into Salesforce.
  • Enter and maintain current privileging information in Salesforce.
  • Effectively communicate all privileging updates on the weekly regional staffing calls.
  • Responsible for completing weekly update emails to regional teams to include proactive updates on all files in process and using color code system.
  • Create and maintain strong client relationships.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum: High School education or equivalent
  • Minimum: Prior experience in the health services industry or prior experience in a similar administrative/project management role

Pay Range: $20-$28. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographic location.
