Job Description

As an Engineering Manager, your role is at the forefront of shaping Microblink's identity product suite. You're not just overseeing an engineering team; you're orchestrating technical excellence, setting a clear direction for the team in alignment with organizational goals, fostering the growth and collaboration of engineering talent and driving the execution of flagship products that define our innovation.

As you mentor and steer engineers proficient in various technology stacks, you will play a pivotal role in influencing the experiences of millions of end users and empowering over 500 businesses.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Lead and guide a team of engineers
  • Provide regular training and mentorship to all team members
  • Conduct performance evaluations and devise effective development plans
  • Participate in the hiring process and formulate hiring plans based on business requirements and team capacity
  • Collaborate with product management team on defining projects and roadmap
  • Collaborate and coach other engineering leaders to align leadership practices with Microblink's core values and tech trajectory
  • Invest in developing processes and tools that empower the team, enhancing their efficiency and productivity
  • Stay up to date on industry and technology trends, consistently upgrading the team's tools and engineering practices

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • A proven track record of managing high-performing engineering teams, preferably cross-functional teams 
  • Experience with software product lifecycle management 
  • Experience in growing and leading engineering teams, including recruiting,  performance management, professional and personal development
  • Experience working in a product-centric scale-up environment
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and leadership at all levels
  • Previous senior or lead software engineer experience in an individual contributor role  
  • A willingness to work across EST and CET time zones occasionally

A plus is if you also have any of the following: 

  • Experience in practicing Machine Learning and leading ML teams and projects
  • A deep technical understanding of any common general-purpose language, such as C#, Python, C++, Java
