What will be your responsibilities:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will concentrate on cloud infrastructure, ensuring service reliability, and enhancing observability. Your key responsibilities include fostering a DevOps culture, leading the architectural vision for scalable infrastructure, and collaborating with departments to align DevOps with company objectives. Your role also involves optimizing processes, enhancing incident management, and strategically managing vendors for governance and compliance.

Throughout the initial three months of your onboarding process, you will:

  • Help prioritize improvements around workflows and processes on the existing infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, you'll establish relationships and gain insights into their specific needs and pain points 
  • Lead and deliver one of the smaller initiatives we have in our yearly plan
  • Evaluate emerging technologies that could enhance the current DevOps ecosystem and align them with the company's strategic goals

After completing the three-month onboarding period, you will:

  • Develop, deploy, and operate Microblink’s cloud-native infrastructure
  • Develop and improve instrumentation for understanding and troubleshooting the health and availability of services
  • Bring a mindset of standards and best practices to help create observability solutions that the team wants to adopt
  • Participate in technical discussions to aid system design, analysis, and troubleshooting
  • Help engineering teams to develop, test, debug and release scalable, resilient and highly available cloud-native applications

 

You'll be successful in this role if you have

  • Strong experience with design, architecture, and maintenance of highly available infrastructure
  • Designed and implemented continuous integration and deployment for distributed HA software services
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining persistent data store software, including on-prem blob storage, and various database software (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
  • At least a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

 

A plus is if you also have

  • Experience in working with GCP as well as bare metal systems involving Kubernetes deployments
  • Some experience in working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, and/or cross-business projects
