Partner with leading financial institutions to deliver on their risk and resilience priorities.

Job Overview:

Novatus are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to support the delivery of complex resilience and risk engagements for clients, spanning regulatory-driven change and broader organisational improvements. Working closely with our Senior Leaders and clients, you will apply analytical skills and industry knowledge to help deliver sustainable regulatory and risk outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and deliver non-financial risk and control transformation projects
  • Drive control simplification projects including control re-design and framework simplification.
  • Drive changes within complex client environments, liaising across first and second line of defence.
  • Lead and deliver resilience-related engagements, including implementation of new regulations ensuring clients meet regulatory expectations and deadlines
  • Embed and strengthen operational resilience capabilities across client organisations more broadly, beyond point-in-time regulatory compliance — including governance, risk appetite, testing, and reporting frameworks
  • Support clients in aligning resilience and risk approaches across overlapping regulatory regimes (e.g. UK OpRes, DORA, PS26/2) to reduce duplication and drive efficiency
  • Produce high-quality client deliverables, including reports, briefing papers, and presentations, tailored to different stakeholder audiences (e.g. Board, Risk Committee, operational teams)
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on resilience and risk matters
  • Contribute to business development, including proposal writing, thought leadership, and identifying new engagement opportunities
  • Support junior team members through coaching, technical guidance, and quality review of deliverables
  • Stay current on regulatory developments and industry best practice, sharing insights internally and with clients

Essential Requirements:

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in management consulting, risk advisory, regulatory consulting, or in-house risk/compliance functions within Financial Services.
  • Experience of owning or supporting the delivery of complex risk transformation projects
  • Experience of owning or supporting the delivery of resilience compliance projects.
  • Experience in risk management and operational resilience, including framework design and implementation.
  • Experience in regulatory change delivery and engagement with UK and/or global regulators (e.g., FCA, PRA).
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in complex, fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
