The Platform Integrations team builds the integration services, APIs, and shared libraries that connect MeridianLink's products to one another and to our customers' systems.

MeridianLink is building a new enterprise integration platform, and this team owns both sides of that work: the modern integration services that make up the new platform, and the integration code inside our existing product applications that our customers depend on today.

You will deliver new APIs and event-driven services, and you will also work directly in our established .NET codebases, including the monolithic applications, to ship integrations faster and with higher quality. The right person is a capable engineer who delivers integration work independently, moves comfortably between new and older code, and wants to grow into a long-term owner of how MeridianLink integrates. You will work alongside senior engineers and architects who will invest in your growth as the platform takes shape.

About the Opportunity

In the first few months, a successful hire ships integration features in both a modern service and the existing product code, with tests, clean reviews, and predictable behavior in Production. Over the first year, they become a trusted owner of a set of integrations, contribute real components to the enterprise integration platform, and help Engineer I teammates ramp up. Long-term impact is measured by the quality and stability of the integrations they own, how much faster the team delivers customer integrations, and how much of their knowledge lives in documentation and shared code the whole team can use.

What it means to be an Engineer II at MeridianLink

Engineer II handle a broad range of work independently, from bug fixes to feature development. They have developed a specialization and are deepening it. They write code that other engineers trust, ask good questions, and are starting to help the other engineers around them. Engineer IIs at MeridianLink are active, daily users of AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Deliver Integrations

• Build integration features, RESTful APIs, and shared libraries against defined contracts and patterns, including the event-driven and asynchronous flows the team builds

• Build and improve integration logic in the existing product applications, including the monoliths, to deliver customer integrations with more speed

• Follow and help evolve the team's API standards for versioning, contracts, and deprecation

• Take a scoped design and drive it to a working, deployed result

Own Your Work End to End

• Fully test your work before it moves forward; write unit and integration tests and contribute to acceptance and end-to-end coverage for what you build

• Own your work through every stage of the SDLC to Production, and fix Production issues that arise from it

• Meet the team's quality and coverage bar before code goes to review

• Participate in the team's support and on-call rotation for the integrations the team owns

Contribute to the Platform Direction

• Contribute to the design and build-out of MeridianLink's enterprise integration platform as it moves from vision to production

• Identify recurring integration patterns in the existing products that belong in shared platform services

• Flag integration risks, blockers, and design gaps early so the team can address them in the design

Collaboration & Growing Others

• Participate in design discussions and code reviews; give and receive feedback constructively

• Support onboarding of Engineer I teammates; share context and help them get unblocked

• Contribute to documentation that reduces tribal knowledge on the team

Qualifications

Technical Execution & Delivery

• Completes assigned features and bug fixes independently, with limited need for day-to-day guidance

• Designs components within a well-defined scope; escalates questions on complex system design rather than guessing

• Participates in code review and provides constructive feedback

• Surfaces blockers proactively rather than waiting for check-ins

Craft & Professionalism

• Writes tests that cover the functionality they ship

• Monitors and responds to issues with their own work

• Documents decisions and implementation details that others will need later

Integration Engineering

• Understands how APIs, contracts, and versioning keep integrations stable as the systems on either side change

• Builds synchronous and asynchronous integration flows and knows when each one fits

• Debugs across service boundaries and traces a failed integration back to its root cause

Working Across New and Established Code

• Moves comfortably between modern .NET services and older .NET Framework code

• Makes safe, well-tested changes inside large monolithic applications

• Understands how today's integration patterns map to the target platform direction, and builds in a way that eases that transition

AI-Assisted Engineering

• Uses modern AI coding harnesses daily, such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, or Pi, with a working understanding of what an agent is: a model paired with a harness

• Applies these tools across the SDLC, from writing and reviewing code to generating tests and documentation

• Shares effective AI workflows with teammates

Required Experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, delivering features independently in a production environment

• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design fundamentals

• Proficiency with standard development tooling: Git, Docker, automated testing, and modern scripting languages

• Active daily use of AI-assisted development tools

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

• Proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem, including experience with .NET Framework codebases

• Experience building or contributing to production APIs and integration features

• Experience working in large, established codebases

• Daily hands-on use of modern AI coding harnesses (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Pi, or similar), with a working understanding of what an agent is (model plus harness)

• Experience writing unit and integration tests, including using AI to help build them

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and operating workloads on Azure

• Experience with event-driven architectures or enterprise messaging patterns

• Familiarity with event streaming platforms and asynchronous processing patterns

• Working command of distributed systems fundamentals across scaling, data storage, and correctness under failure

• Experience with API gateway technologies and API lifecycle management, including versioning and contracts

• Experience writing acceptance and end-to-end tests; experience with Playwright is desired

• Deeper understanding of harness mechanics, including memory, tool calls, and hooks, and how they shape agent behavior

• Experience with VB.NET

• Experience integrating with third-party or external partner systems
