Role Description This full-time Psychiatrist role at LifeStance Health is a hybrid position based in Des Moines, IA, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning for children, adolescents, and adults with a range of mental health conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting in-person and telehealth appointments, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, delivering evidence-based treatments, and coordinating care with therapists, primary care clinicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. The Psychiatrist will maintain accurate clinical documentation, adhere to regulatory and ethical standards, and participate in case consultations and quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues to support LifeStance Health’s mission, values, and commitment to person-centered, culturally responsive care.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Medicine and Psychiatry, with the ability to integrate medical and behavioral health perspectives in treatment planning.
- Demonstrated expertise in Psychiatric Care and Mental Health, including diagnosis and management of a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders.
- Experience or training in Adolescent Psychiatry and care for children and adolescents, including familiarity with age-specific assessment and intervention approaches.
- Current, unrestricted medical license (MD or DO) in the state of Iowa or eligibility for licensure, and board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Proficiency with electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and documentation standards, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care.
- Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency (and fellowship, if applicable), and current DEA registration or eligibility.
