Your Role at impact.com

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Growth Enablement Developer (Mid-Level) to join our Marketplace Growth team, supporting both advanced email development and technical messaging integrations across lifecycle and bulk communications.

This role is suited to someone with solid foundational experience in HTML/CSS email development who is ready to take on greater ownership of complex builds, API-triggered messaging, and automation workflows within a fast-paced growth technology environment.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining responsive, dynamic email templates, campaign assets, and triggered messaging flows, ensuring high-quality execution across both bulk and lifecycle communications. This includes working with more complex logic, modular components, and scalable template structures.

In addition to email development, you will actively support and contribute to API-triggered messaging and system integrations, working with platforms such as SendGrid and Marketo to help deliver event-based and automated customer journeys.

You will collaborate closely with the Growth Enablement, Product, Data, and Development teams to translate requirements into well-structured, testable, and reliable messaging outputs. You will also play a more active role in debugging, optimisation, and improving end-to-end campaign and trigger performance.

This role is ideal for someone who is technically confident, detail-driven, and ready to work more independently across both email development and marketing automation systems, while continuing to grow into more senior technical ownership within the team.

What You'll Do

  • Build and implement responsive HTML email templates, including complex and dynamic email structures based on design and lifecycle requirements
  • Develop and support advanced dynamic emails, including conditional logic, personalization, and modular components
  • Support implementation of API-triggered and event-based messaging, including:
  • Configuring and maintaining triggered email templates
  • Supporting API request setup and troubleshooting
  • Validating payload structure, data mapping, and output accuracy
  • Assist in integrating messaging platforms such as SendGrid with internal systems and workflows
  • Perform advanced QA and testing, including:
  • Cross-client email rendering validation
  • Triggered send verification and API response checks
  • Data accuracy and segmentation validation
  • Independently monitor and troubleshoot issues in automated and triggered messaging flows, escalating only complex system-level issues
  • Maintain and improve template libraries, modular components, and technical documentation standards
  • Ensure timely, accurate delivery of both bulk and automated lifecycle communications
  • Actively contribute to improvements in:
  • API integration workflows
  • Automation logic and scalability
  • Email development standards and component design
  • Use AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency in:
  • Debugging and QA
  • Code optimisation and refactoring
  • Template and component development

What You Bring

  • Strong HTML/CSS for email development and responsive design
  • Solid understanding of:
  • APIs (REST, JSON payloads, headers)
  • Webhooks and event-driven messaging systems
  • Hands-on experience with ESPs such as:
  • SendGrid
  • Marketo
  • Experience using tools such as Postman for API testing and validation
  • Familiarity with QA/testing tools such as Litmus
  • Understanding of:
  • Data mapping and event tracking
  • Segmentation logic and dynamic content
  • Automation workflows across lifecycle systems
  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. code assistants, debugging support, testing acceleration tools) as part of development workflow
  • Willingness to deepen expertise in integration architecture and messaging automation systems
  • Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in email development, CRM technology, marketing automation, or frontend/integration-focused roles
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end email builds and lifecycle campaign assets independently
  • Exposure to API integrations, triggered messaging, or automation systems in a production environment
  • Relevant diploma/degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Mindset & Attributes
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to deliver work independently with minimal supervision
  • Highly detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy across both code and data-driven messaging
  • Curious and confident working across both technical and marketing domains
  • Proactive problem-solver who can diagnose and resolve issues across build, data, and delivery layers
  • Comfortable using AI tools responsibly to improve speed and quality without compromising standards
  • Collaborative and effective across CRM, product, data, and development teams
  • Continuously improving technical depth in APIs, automation, and messaging systems
