About the role
The Senior Enterprise Applications Partner focuses on collaborating large projects / processes and applying subject matter expertise with respect to identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives for Enterprise Applications integrated with business processes/data and IT infrastructure (i.e., an “application system”). Senior Enterprise Apps Partner are in charge of implementing and analyzing complex systems for development, which includes planning, development, testing, documenting, and deployment processes for both development and production environments. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask on separate projects are important, and their main responsibilities often focus on systems design, automation, and maintenance. They also develop efficient budgets, troubleshoot problems, manage risks, and schedule deadlines for technical deliveries.

What you will do:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Atlassian Platform Administrators and Engineers in configuring, customizing, and administering JIRA, JSM, Confluence, Bitbucket, and GitHub/Jenkins.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective solutions using the Atlassian toolset.
  • Participates in comprehensive evaluations of business requirements, developing detailed specifications, and validating the different solutions with business stakeholders
  • Manage and optimize user permissions, groups, and access controls across Atlassian applications to ensure security and compliance.
  • Design and implement complex workflows, issue types, fields, and screens in JIRA to support various teams and projects.
  • Oversee the installation, upgrade, patching, and lifecycle management of Atlassian Data Center/Cloud instances, ensuring high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR)
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party Atlassian apps to enhance functionality and meet business needs.
  • Drive complex automation and workflow enhancements using Groovy (ScriptRunner) and REST API integrations (Python/Bash) for system health, reporting, automating, and other automation purposes.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members on Atlassian toolset usage, best practices, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the operational performance of the established JSM service desk. Responsibilities include daily monitoring of ticket volume, conducting team discussions to address technical ambiguities, managing all service escalations, and preparing detailed reports for higher management on SLA breaches and key throughput metrics
  • Monitor system health, performance, and security, and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Stay current with Atlassian product updates, industry trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • The candidate should also have expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including compute, storage, databases, serverless technologies, and networking services.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub CI/CD, and Bitbucket is desired.


What you will need:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Atlassian administration, with 3+ years in a leadership/management capacity over engineering teams.
  • Strong experience with Jira Cloud administration (projects, workflows, schemes, automations)
  • Extensive expertise in configuring, customizing, and administering JIRA, JSM, Confluence, and Bitbucket in large-scale environments.
  • Solid understanding of AWS cloud services and infrastructure patterns.
  • Strong scripting capability (Python, Bash) and Hands-on experience writing YAML-based automation scripting (eg, CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes would be an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Atlassian toolset architecture, administration, and configuration best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and integrating third-party Atlassian apps, plugins, and add-ons.
  • Proficiency in scripting and hands-on experience with ScriptRunner for JIRA and Confluence.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Atlassian certifications (e.g., JIRA Administrator, Confluence Administrator, Atlassian Certified Professional) are a plus.
